Preparation is key, so if you know your pet is afraid of fireworks or suffers with a noise phobia, it’s a good idea to start planning ahead – ideally at least a month in advance of the expected event. During this time, Scullcap & Valerian Tablets can help naturally relax your pet and give the best results when used alongside gentle and consistent behavioural training, such as noise desensitisation programmes.

For situations where you are ‘caught out’, for example thunderstorms or an unexpected fireworks display, our Valerian Compound is a great short-term and quicker-acting option. It can also be used alongside Scullcap & Valerian Tablets as a top-up, if needed.

How do they work?

The specially selected ingredients in our Scullcap & Valerian Tablets work together to help tackle stress, fear and anxiety in your pet:

• Valerian - helps to support the natural relaxant pathways within the nervous system, without affecting muscles. Present in both Scullcap & Valerian Tablets and Valerian Compound.
• Scullcap - contains a number of valuable compounds including those which bind to the GABA receptor and reduce anxiety.
• Mistletoe - helps to support the natural calming pathways within the nervous system and helps circulation.
• Gentian - supports the other natural active compounds and helps maintain normal liver function.

Can customers use the tablets and liquid together?

Scullcap & Valerian Tablets used daily provide better coverage and are ideal to start using in the lead up to Fireworks Night so they are already nice and relaxed before the scary noises start.

Valerian Compound is quicker-acting and is perfect to use orally as a "top-up" and for unpredicted events such as a neighbours having a fireworks display or a thunder storm. It is ideal to put a few drops on a cloth on their bed to help them relax, cats love this especially.

When do customers need to start giving the products?

Best results seen alongside behavourial training after 3 weeks. However, even if you only start the day or so before your dog will still benefit.

What administration should customers use?

Scullcap & Valerian Tablets administration 1 tablet per 5kgs bodyweight daily. Increase to double the quantity as and when required and depending on the severity of the anxiety. Recommended to be used daily for at least 3 weeks. Give half the quantity in the morning and half in the evening.

Valerian Compound administration: 1/2 tsp for small dogs and cats, 1/2 tsp for medium dogs, 1tsp for large dogs and 1.5tsp for Giant breeds. May be given as required, it is not recommended that more than two administrations of the stated amount are given in a 24 hours period.
